2-Years of Animated!

Dear Animated World,

Two Years ago from this previous August I set out on an amazing experience, the Disney College Program. During my program I decided to pick up blogging and write about the days spent on the program. Thus my first blog, Bring on the Magic, was created. I had no idea what I was doing on the blog, but it was a fun way to connect to friends back home.  It was a way to share my experience with them.

Fast forward to the beginning of January two years ago. My time on my College Program was officially over. May I say, it was a ride of a lifetime! I tried blogging once on Bring on the Magic back home, and it just didn’t feel the same. I decided it was time to end Bring on the Magic and thought my days of blogging were pretty much over. That was till two weeks past by and I got an itch to start blogging again. I didn’t want to blog on Bring on the Magic though. Bring on the Magic will always be like a journal of memories of being on the College Program. Not only did I want to preserve Bring on the Magic as it was, I wanted to broaden the scope of my blog. I wanted to start writing about more characters. My favorites from Disney, anime, video games, and more. I decided then to leave Bring on the Magic as is and start a new blog. Thus came the challenge of naming it. That was, I thought it was going to be a challenge till I read this definition.

Animated: (1) full of life or excitement; lively; (2) (of a movie or image) made using animation techniques.

The word pretty much summed up what I wanted the blog to be. A full of life place to hangout which animated characters would be showcased on.

After accidentally screwing up the font on the first ‘A’ of the logo, animated was created on February 1st!

Fast forward to today, two years later from my first post on animated. Somethings haven’t changed. Like for example, I still have no idea what I’m doing. XD But blogging is still my fun way of connecting with friends. Only this time not only just with friends at home, but also with friends all over. While somethings have changed quite drastically, and it hasn’t always been easy.

This previous August, I was going to pull down the curtain on animated. Sure the normal factors played into the decision, not enough time and views were going south. However, the main reason was self doubt, negativity, and a wrong mindset.

Over the four months I took off from animated, I started to focus on myself. Something that was much needed. I started to read a lot about becoming a more positive and happier person. Over that time I saw small change. I had one of the best semester of classes in one of my hardest semesters, I felt happier hanging out with family and friends, and I grew into a new mindset. With it came the itch to once again start blogging. However, If I was going to comeback to animated, I wanted to come back for real. With this return came open arms from this awesome community that I am very thankful for.

Fast forward to today, February 1st. I feel that once ‘animated’ person who started the blog has been re-animated and improved. I’m still working on self change as it doesn’t happen over night. Sure I have days that I might take two steps forward and then one step back. I do see small improvements though. I see it a lot in how I write on animated now. Writing more to the purpose of the blog, full of life and excitement.

I haven’t had a day were I wasn’t happy to be back on animated. Mainly due to this awesome community. Whether you and I have occasionally crossed paths, have once in a while had interactions, or have made full use of the 140 character limit on Twitter. I truly want to thank you for being here! It is the reason animated has made it two years. Thank you to all the bloggers who have been here since the beginning and that have joined somewhere along the journey. You’ve stuck with me through thick and thin!
